This Privacy Policy describes how the Speedometer Android application (“the App”, “we”, “us”) handles your data. By installing and using the App, you agree to the practices described below.

Data Collection and Use

The Speedometer application requires access to device location (GPS) strictly to calculate and display real-time speed.

• Location data is read from the device's GPS hardware solely to derive the current ground speed.
• The App does not collect, transmit, or share your location or any other personal data.
• The App does not use analytics, advertising, or third-party tracking SDKs.
• No account, login, or registration is required to use the App.

Data Retention and Privacy

All location and session data is processed locally on the device in real-time.

• The App does not store location data on the device filesystem.
• The App does not transmit any data to external servers.
• All in-memory session data (such as maximum speed and GPS satellite connection state) is permanently wiped the moment the application is closed or moved to the background.
• No data is retained that could identify you or track your movement.

Permissions Used

• ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION — required to obtain GPS speed readings.
• ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION — used as a fallback for approximate speed when GPS is degraded.

These permissions are used only while the App is active in the foreground.

Children's Privacy

The App is intended for general use and does not collect personal data from anyone, including children. No data is collected that could be attributable to a child or any other user.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted to this page with an updated revision date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
